A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM

The Jerry Herman Ring Theatre presents
A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart

April 11 - April 28

Inspired by the farces of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, one of Broadway's greatest farces, begins with the announcment of, "Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight!"

FORUM tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door.  Light and fast-paced, witty and irreverent!  It takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from Roman farces with the slapstick energy of classic vaudeville.  The result is a non-stop laugh-fest that will leave your sides aching from laughter.
