Working

The Caldwell Theatre Company Presents
Working
Book by Stephen Schwartz
February 26 - April 1

Based on the best-selling book of interviews with American workers by Studs Terkel, Working explores the American workday from the Monday morning blues to a working person's pride in having "something to point to."

Working celebrates everyday people in a genuinely funny and touching way.  In the musical, twenty-six workers, including a parking lot attendant, corporate executive, schoolteacher, gas man, housewife, fireman, waitress, millworker, sailor, etc., sing and talk about their jobs, defining not only their daily round, but their hopes and aspirations as well.

Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso adapted Working into a stage play.  A true celebration of the American worker at the perfect time, now updated, with music composed by a collection of songwriters including, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) Lin Manuel-Miranda (In the Heights), and Grammy award winner James Taylor among others. It portrays the lives of 26 American workers insightfully, comically and always with dignity.
